Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore hours this week

Recent donations feature large print fiction and also a variety of books about horses.

The Friends of Sherwood Library bookstore is open this week on Wednesday from 1 – 4 PM and Sunday from 1 to 3 PM. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

This week we are fortunate to have received donations of large print fiction books, including works by David Baldacci, Ann B. Ross (the “Miss Julia” series), and Dorothy Garlock.

On our “Special Price” table, horse lovers will find beautiful volumes of picture books, how-to texts, horse and rider books, etc. New additions to the table also include a 4-volume set of “Voices of the Civil War” (print, not music).

We still have many of the Korean language beautiful picture books for kids, with the original illustrations (including “Make Way for Ducklings,” “Max and the Night Kitchen,” and 2 full-size “Madeleine” books). Also still waiting for a good home is an old 20-volume set of Charles Dickens’ works, in the classics section.

We constantly update our selections of beach-worthy mass market paperbacks, romance, and mystery novels. PLEASE NOTE: we also have thousands of children’s and young adult books as well as teacher resource materials. Let parents, teachers, and home schoolers know about this fantastic resource found in their local library.

Recent donations of DVDs and history/biography books are all on separate carts or shelves for ease in browsing.

The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
