Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore hours this week

The bookstore will be open regular hours on Wednesday, 1-4 PM, and Sunday, 1-3 PM. Items from the ongoing booksale in the first floor hallway and the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

The bookstore has just received a donation of 60 assorted hardcover volumes of the “Scientific American Library.” These cover a variety of topics and may be purchased singly or as the complete set.

Parents, grandparents, teachers, neighbors: did you know the bookstore is an amazing resource for children’s and young adult books? Everything from board books, picture books, and first chapter books through dystopian fiction for teens can be found here; many are like-new and gift quality. Also look for special sections of DVDs, CDs, games, and puzzles for young readers. Every child gets a free regular price kid’s book at every visit, and we offer a discount to teachers.

In addition to our regular categories we also feature sections for 2018 editions, vintage books, and specialized historical works.

Did you know our inventory is donated by members of the community? Our bookstore and support of the library depend on your generosity. We are in special need of large print book donations. These are very popular and we can’t keep up with requests. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
