Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore hours this week

The bookstore will be open regular hours on Wednesday, 1-4 PM, and Sunday, 1-3 PM. Items from the ongoing booksale in the first floor hallway and the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

Not many people realize that the bookstore has thousands of children’s and young adult books. Help us spread the word about this under-utilized resource by forwarding this message to parents, grandparents, teachers, and schools. Everything from board books, picture books, and first chapter books through dystopia fiction for teens can be found here; many are like-new and gift quality. Also look for special sections of DVDs, CDs, games, and puzzles for young readers. Every child gets a free regular price kid’s book at every visit, and we offer a discount to teachers.

This week new additions to our special price table include “The Yale Shakespeare,” a 7 volume paperback set of “The Chronicles of Narnia,” and a signed copy of Margaret Evans’ “The Sixth World.”

Did you know our inventory is donated by members of the community? Our bookstore and support of the library depend on your generosity. We are in special need of large print book donations. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
