Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore hours this week

The bookstore will be open regular hours on Wednesday, 1-4 PM, and Sunday, 1-3 PM. Items from the ongoing booksale in the first floor hallway and the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

We have placed a generous donation of both recent and classic math and science books on a separate cart for easier browsing. Titles include “Radiation Detection”; “Time Travel and Other Mathematical Bewilderments”; “Knocking on Heaven’s Door”; “Classical Dynamics” and many others. On the same cart we have new donations of beautiful quilting and craft books.

Because St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated in March, we’ve put aside a shelf of books focused on Ireland, including travel guides, “Irish Wildflowers,” “JFK in Ireland” and many additional volumes. Look for these near the coffee table books.

This week on the special price table you’ll find a variety of hardcover selections, plus a 5-disk DVD set of “My So-called Life.” Included on the table are 2 collections of Korean language books, nicely bound.

Did you know our inventory is donated by members of the community? Our bookstore and support of the library depend on your generosity. We are in special need of large print book donations. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
