Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore hours this week

The bookstore will be open regular hours on Wednesday, 1-4 PM, and Sunday, 1-3 PM. Items from the ongoing booksale in the first floor hallway and the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

Because St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated in March, we’ve put aside a shelf of books focused on Ireland, including travel guides, “Irish Wildflowers,” “JFK in Ireland” and many additional volumes. Look for these near the coffee table books.

Our children’s section continues to be a popular source for like-new children’s and young adult books. We’ve restocked all the shelves in that room as well as our “25 cent table” in the second floor lobby. Be sure to visit soon and also let teachers, parents, and your neighbors know about this valuable resource.

We have added a variety of different volumes this week to the special price table, including “ The Roof: The Beatles’ Final Concert”; a wrapped volume of “Killing Commendatore” by Haruki Murakami; a slipcase edition of “At the Court of the Borgia”; and an inscribed volume of Walter Wangerin Jr.’s “The Book of God: The Bible as a Novel.”

Did you know our inventory is donated by members of the community? Our bookstore and support of the library depend on your generosity. We are in special need of large print book donations. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
