Save the date for June 1 sale on children's and teen books.

The bookstore will be open on Wednesday, 1-4 PM, and Sunday, 1-3 PM. Items from the ongoing book sale in the first floor hallway and in the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

Generous donations this week have been very welcome. Especially exciting is a shelf-full of paperback Louis L’Amour westerns. These can be found in a second floor bookcase near the coffee table books. And speaking of coffee table books, we have added some spectacular art books to this collection, each for only $1.

This week our special price table includes a 4-disc set of the “Stan Freberg Collection, 1951-98”; a slip case edition of “My Adventures as an Illustrator,” by Norman Rockwell; the Bob Dylan “6 Chord Songbook”; “Chesapeake Requiem” by Earl Swift; and “Wood Sculptures” – hand carved birds by local artist Charles Becherer.

We continue to add beautiful items to our collection of music offerings and highly desirable art books. These include sheet music, instructional booklets, and books about music and musicians.

The bookstore is currently in need of paperback mysteries. If you have any languishing on your shelves at home, we would especially appreciate them. Our bookstore and support of the library depend on donations by members of the community. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in clean, resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
