Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore hours this week

The Friends of Sherwood Library bookstore is open this week on Wednesday from 1 – 4 PM and Sunday, 1 – 3 PM. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

New donations this week include lots of electronic entertainment: a full cart of movie DVDs; a special feature section with multi-disc DVD sets of TV series; boxes full of CDs, all genres; and Harry Potter movies (and Potter books) in the children’s room.

Rock & roll fans, we’ve just received a huge donation of books about Elvis, the Beatles, Clapton, Morrison, and more. These include large format photo essays, bios, etc. All items are set aside on a cart for easy browsing.

More special interest donations this week include a complete set of Danielle Steele novels, dating back to her first volumes, and all in hardback format. And in our classics sections, we’ve added nice volumes from Trollope, Melville, Henry James, and more.

We continue to offer old vinyl records at 50 cents each; a like-new 54-volume set of Great Books; and a vast selection of children’s and young adult books, many in gift-quality condition. Our “coffee table books” selection has many exciting additions in all genres.

Every week we put out a new selection of recently donated history/biography books on a separate cart. This week that cart is especially full of attractive recent donations.

The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
