Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore offers holiday books

Library Friends bookstore offers gift-quality used books and, this week, Peterson field guides

This week the Friends of Sherwood Library bookstore is open Wednesday from 1 – 4 PM and Sunday from 1-3 PM. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

Recently we received a wonderful collection of leather-bound Roger Tory Peterson field guides. These guides are not just to various regions’ birds, although many are indeed just that, but also to insects, geology, plants, mammals, etc. Each guide is $4.

For the entire month of December we will have all holiday books displayed and available for purchase. Especially noteworthy are the many children’s books. During Wednesday and Sunday sales, we also will offer gift-quality non-holiday children’s items.

Speaking of gifts, here’s a great idea for stocking stuffers: we now have $5 GIFT CERTIFICATES on sale in the bookstore sales room. These are redeemable for purchases at the bookstore with no expiration date!

New for December, the bookstore will feature our small but growing collection from the African American shelf. Look for this in the sales room on the bookcase near the sales table.
