Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore only open Wed. this week

No donations accepted during week of July 4th

The Friends of Sherwood Library bookstore is open this week on Wednesday from 1 – 4 PM. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

REMEMBER, the bookstore itself will be closed from July 1 through July 7. No Sunday, Wednesday, or Saturday sale that week, although books on the open stacks will as always be available for purchase at the payment kiosks. Also, we will not accept donations during that week.

This week our spotlight is on recent donations to our science fiction collection. For example, we have received many Robert Jordan, Stephen King, and Terry Goodkind hardcovers, among others; a beautiful copy of Andy Weir’s “The Martian”; and numerous sci fi paperbacks.

Plenty of beach-worthy mass market paperbacks, romance, and mystery novels have been added to the shelves this week, and we’ve also refreshed our children’s and young adult sections, including Harry Potter volumes.

Recent donations of DVDs, audio books on CD, and history/biography books are all on separate carts or shelves for ease in browsing.
