Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore open only Wed. this week

Please note: this week the Friends of Sherwood Library bookstore is open only on Wednesday from 1 – 4 PM. The library is closed for the holiday from December 22 through December 25. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

Looking for last-minute holiday gifts? The bookstore has an amazing selection of “coffee table” books, many of gift quality, as well as children’s and young adult like-new books. Mini-books and $5 gift certificates make excellent stocking stuffers. For the entire month of December we will have all holiday books displayed and available for purchase

This week we have received extensive donations in history, biography, and religion. For your convenience, these new additions have been placed on separate carts in the sales room. A recent donation of 21 volumes of Harvard Classics (each volume $1) can be found across the aisle from the coffee table books. And, the cookbook cart is “stuffed” with new additions.

During December, look for our small but growing collection from the African American shelf. These books are in the sales room on the bookcase near the door.

The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
