Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore open regular hours

Plan ahead! Visit the bookstore now to stock up on books and games for the next snow day.

The bookstore will be open regular hours on Wednesday, 1-4 PM, and Sunday, 1-3 PM. Items from the ongoing booksale in the first floor hallway and the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

Plan ahead for your next snow day! Come in and stock up on recent donations, including 19 hardcover mysteries from Dick Francis and multiple selections from Patricia Cornwell and Tony Hillerman. Like to cook when you’re snowbound? The special price table this week features two cookbooks from Michel Roux packed with French cooking recipes and tips. Use the “DK Guide to Rocks and Minerals” to learn about all those rocks you’ve collected during the summer.

Bring the whole family to browse in our children’s room. We have an eclectic selection of games, puzzles, DVDs, and activity books to keep them entertained if school is canceled and they get bored. The shelves in the children’s room are stocked with thousands of books for all ages and interests, and every child gets a free regular price kid’s book at every visit.

Look for the “Intergalactic Travel Bureau Vacation Guide to the Solar System” on the special price table, and a nearby cart-full of recent donations of history and bio volumes.

Did you know our inventory is donated by members of the community? Our bookstore and support of the library depend on your generosity. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
