Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore open this Saturday

This Saturday the Friends of Sherwood Library bookstore has its monthly “first Saturday” sale, from 10 AM – 4 PM, with many special offerings. The Bookstore is also open as usual on Wednesday from 1 – 4 PM and Sunday, 1 – 3 PM. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

“Special” Notice! All items in the bookstore that have been priced with a special price sticker will be half-price on Saturday and Sunday. This includes children’s books, DVD sets, vintage books, and of course items from the special price room and table.

Do you especially like the larger format, easy to hold soft cover books that we call “trade paperbacks”? The trades are usually 50 cents each, but this week will be on sale at 3 for $1 – must buy 3 to get the sale price.

We’ve received a generous donation of boxes and boxes of old vinyl records that we’re offering at 50 cents each.

A like-new 54-volume set of Great Books, 1952 edition in a 1988 printing, is on sale this week for $250 or best offer.

The bookstore continues to add new donations to its DVD and CD collection. Look for specially priced DVD sets in the bookcase near the sale room entrance.

A recent influx of history and biography books has allowed us to update all holdings on our history shelves.

The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
