Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore open Saturday this week

Friends of Sherwood Library bookstore offers used books and more; expanded hours this week; new donations keep stock current.

This week the Friends of Sherwood Library bookstore is open on Saturday, March 3, from 10 – 4, as well as regular hours on Wednesday, February 28, from 1 – 4 PM and Sunday, March 4, 1 – 3 PM. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

Featured this week are recently donated history books, many focused on WWI and II. For your convenience, we’ve put all these on a separate cart in the history section.

The DVD section has received a generous selection of exercise videos.

Spring is in the air at the bookstore. Make plans to start or expand your outdoor space and browse our large selection of gardening and home improvement books.

We maintain a regular shelf of large-print books and have received many recent donations to that collection.

We constantly update and add to our children’s selections, featuring like-new picture books, easy readers, young adult series, classics, fiction and non-fiction for all grades and reading levels. If you haven’t looked at this room lately, please visit and be sure to let your neighbors, teachers, friends, and parents/grandparents know about this fantastic resource.

The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
