Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore open Saturday this week

Features this week include special holiday items in like-new condition

The bookstore will be open for our “First Saturday” sale on Nov.3, from 10 AM – 4 PM. and for regular sale hours on Wednesday, 1-4 PM and Sunday, 1-3 PM. Items from the ongoing booksale on the first floor hallway and the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

The PBS “Great American Read” list of the 100 most popular books was announced during the past week. The list is certainly up for debate but if you would like to read any of them again come browse at the bookstore. We may have them on our shelves! Get a head start on holiday reading this Saturday and Sunday with our huge assortment of holiday books for kids and adults, puzzles, and craft and activity books. Many books are in like-new condition. The items will be on dedicated tables in the second floor lobby.

Another new feature inside the bookstore is an area displaying only 2018 bestsellers and other current fiction. These are in a separate bookcase for easier browsing.

Recent donations featured on our Special Price table include a “Mystery Island: LOST” jigsaw puzzle, and many especially relevant political and social commentary volumes.

Remember, EVERY SUNDAY, during our regular bookstore hours (1 to 3 PM), Special Price books located in the Special Price room will be half off their sticker price. All books with a red "slash" through the price sticker qualify for this special sale. New books are added weekly. This discount is ONLY available during Sunday sales and excludes children's books. Look for the red slash and enjoy lower prices!

The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
