Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore open Saturday this week

The bookstore will be open this Saturday for our “First Saturday” sale, from 10 AM to 4 PM, as well as regular hours on Wednesday, 1-4 PM and Sunday, 1-3 PM. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

On Saturday, the bookstore begins its month-long offering of holiday items. Children’s books, many in like-new condition, holiday fiction for adults, craft and baking books, electronic media, and miscellaneous seasonal items, all available at hard-to-believe prices. Come early for the best selection.

This week we have added more than 100 classical musical CDs to our shelves. Also browse the separate bookcase featuring 2018 titles, both fiction and nonfiction.

New additions this week to the Special Price table include a “Star Wars Visual Dictionary,” “Knit Your Own Dog” pattern book, and “A Woman on Paper,” a memoir of Georgia O’Keeffe’s friendships.

Did you know our inventory is donated by members of the community? Our bookstore, and support of the library, depend on your generosity. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.

Items from the ongoing booksale on the first floor hallway and the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. EVERY SUNDAY, during our regular bookstore hours (1 to 3 PM), Special Price books located in the Special Price room are half off their sticker price. All books with a red "slash" through the price sticker qualify for this special sale. New books are added weekly. This discount is ONLY available during Sunday sales and excludes children's books. Look for the red slash and enjoy lower prices!
