Sale features black authors.

The bookstore will hold its monthly “First Saturday” sale on Groundhog Day, February 2, 10 AM – 4 PM. The bookstore will also be open regular hours on Wednesday, 1-4 PM, and Sunday, 1-3 PM. Items from the ongoing booksale in the first floor hallway and the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

In case of inclement weather, check the Fairfax County Library website for updates on library closings and delays: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/library/

Just in time for Black History Month, we have received a generous donation of books by black authors. These have been collected onto a separate cart near the history section for ease in browsing.

The bookstore has also received many fiction books in great shape, both hardcover and trade paperback size. Look for a special display of these in the second floor lobby on Saturday. All adult regular price fiction will be on the BOGO plan (buy one, get one free) during Saturday and Sunday sale hours only.

Plan ahead! Bring the whole family to stock up for the next snow day. All categories in the bookstore have been renewed, thanks to recent donations. In addition to fiction and nonfiction, we have an eclectic selection of children’s games, puzzles, DVDs, and activity books. Every child gets a free regular price kid’s book at every visit.

We are in special need of large print book donations. These are very popular and we can’t keep up with requests.

Did you know our inventory is donated by members of the community? Our bookstore and support of the library depend on your generosity. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
