Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore seeks donations

Library bookstore too successful, needs additional donations from community!

This week the Friends of Sherwood Library bookstore is open Wednesday from 1 – 4 PM and Sunday from 1-3 PM. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

Due to our recent successful sales and promotions, the bookstore is now in need of donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.

In recognition of November as Native American Month, we are dedicating a bookcase near our checkout table to books and other materials about American Indians. Offerings include items for adults and kids. Each month we will use this space to spotlight other subject areas or special events on a rotating basis.

During November we are also offering old, vintage, and antiquarian books, including some that are first editions or out of print. Although many show their age they are generally well bound and in readable condition. We have an entire rack of these books, selling for $1 each or as priced. Depending on interest and donations, this might become a permanent feature at the Bookstore.

Help us spread the word; please forward this message to your community and neighborhood email groups.
