Friends of Sherwood Library bookstore special holiday sale
Shortened holiday hours but a pre-holiday sale you can't afford to miss!

The bookstore will be open regular hours on Wednesday, 1-4 PM.
Special pre-holiday sale: on Saturday, December 22, the bookstore will open from 10 AM to 2 PM, with ALL fiction and ALL special price items at half off. Yes, this also includes holiday books and children’s / young adult books.
Holiday hours: the bookstore will be closed on Sunday, December 23, and on December 24, 25, and 26, as well as January 1. The library will close on December 24 and 25, and January 1. The bookstore reopens on January 2 with its regular Wednesday sale.

Items from the ongoing booksale in the first floor hallway and the second floor open lobby are available for purchase at the payment kiosks whenever the library is open. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.
Still looking for that perfect last-minute holiday gift? We have $5 gift certificates for bookstore purchases, no expiration date, or come in and pick up a like-new holiday book or 2018 best seller. A favorite volume from our “vintage books” section could be just what you need for the person who doesn’t need anything. And in the lobby is a table of brand-new books for children and teens.

Our sports section has been updated with an infusion of books about golf, and history has been newly reorganized for easier browsing. On the special price table this week is a boxed set (book and DVD) of Jacqueline Kennedy’s 1964 interviews with Arthur Schlesinger, Jr.; and an anniversary edition from 1960 celebrating U.S. Naval Aviation.
Did you know our inventory is donated by members of the community? Our bookstore and support of the library depend on your generosity. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
