Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore update

The Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore is always open for ongoing booksale purchases on both the first and second floors. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306. Regional branches, including Sherwood, are now open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.

When a Bookstore volunteer is present, the second floor previously closed bookstore rooms will be open. Bookstore volunteers are on site Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. – noon, and into the early afternoons. Sunday hours will be announced soon.

NEW: Thanks to recent donations, the shelves of cookbooks in the second floor room have been restocked with new inventory. Also on the second floor the paperback mystery bookcase is filling up with newly donated selections (eg., Raymond Chandler), the science fiction bookcase is nearly full, and the romance section has been completely restocked.

NEW: We have re-filled the “Best Seller / Recent” bookcase in the second floor bookstore room with new items, for example: “Klara and the Sun,” by Kazuo Ishiguro; “World Travel” by Anthony Bourdain; “The Book of Two Ways” by Jodi Picoult; “Walk the Wire” by David Baldacci; and many more, both fiction and non-fiction.

We welcome donations of books and other media, but please, no magazines, encyclopedia sets, or VHS tapes.

Volunteers accept cash and credit cards for your purchases; when no volunteer is present, please use the payment kiosks near the circulation desk. In the meantime, please continue to browse the open areas on the first and second floors.
