The bookstore will be open regular hours on Wednesday, 1-4 PM, and Sunday, 1-3 PM. Items from the ongoing booksale in the first floor hallway and the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.
This week during our Wednesday and Sunday sales, our “self help” books will be offered at half price. Come in and explore the “Sleep Revolution,” find out how to “Dress for Success,” learn about “Feng Shui for Prosperity,” and sample a variety of health and diet books.
Tired of winter, rain, and cold? Welcome spring with our new selection of gardening books displayed on the table with coffee table books.

The bookstore’s children and young adult room is a fantastic resource. For fans of dystopian fantasy, we have set aside an entire shelf in our young adult section for this popular genre. The selection includes series by authors James Patterson (Maximum Ride), Christopher Paolini, and Veronica Roth, as well as many others.
This week in the children’s easy-reader section we’ve added a dozen books in the “Fly Guy” series, and for our middle school readers we have the Wimpy Kid series, volumes 1-10 of the “Boxcar Children,” and series by Garth Nix, Jenny Nimmo, Rick Riordan, and Lemony Snicket. We have a good variety of children’s books in other languages (for example ”Caps for Sale” in Spanish). And of course, we continue to carry like-new picture books, the Harry Potter books, and age-appropriate DVDs and CDs, all in the separate children’s room.
