Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore weekly specials
Teacher resources featured this week

The book store will be open as usual on Wednesday, August 7, from 1-4 PM, and Sunday, August 11, from 1-3 PM. Sherwood Regional Library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.
The special price table has been updated this week, as usual, and now includes “The Complete Record Cover Collection,” the “Life and Times of George White McDaniel,” the 2oth century history of “African Americans of Alexandria, Virginia,” and a small-book boxed set of Mo Willems “Pigeon” books.
Our music collection is slowly depleting so we encourage music lovers to drop by while there is still a good selection.

Although we generally do not accept donations of encyclopedias, we recently received a collectable set of the complete 24-volume 1943 edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica, including the atlas volume with index. This extraordinary set is not on public view; if interested, please ask a volunteer.
We have carts filled with new inventory of cookbooks, DVDs, and history and biography. Also for the Wednesday through Sunday sale dates, the second floor lobby will feature a table of special resources for teachers, parents, and homeschool leaders; resources include classroom materials and nonfiction books (history, bio, science, etc.).

SAVE THE DATE: Bookstore Back to School sale starts September 7 and runs through September 14, with half price children’s and teens’ books for all and special discounts for teachers. More details about the sale will be sent separately.
Speaking of donations, we are especially in need of science fiction, romance, and mystery.
Our bookstore and support of the library depend on donations by members of the community. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in clean, resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
Items from the ongoing book sale in the first floor hallway and in the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. Help us spread the word; please forward this message to your community and neighborhood email groups.
