Fundraiser to Restore the Children's Crib at Mount Vernon
Sponsored by the Nelly Custis Chapter of the DAR --an indoor vendor fair with jewelry, handbags, cosmetics, skin care products, cooking ware, household storage items, books and more offered for sale. Vendors have agreed to donate a portion of their proceeds towards the preservation and restoration of the children's crib in the upstairs bedchamber at Mount Vernon. Nelly Custis Lewis slept in this bedroom along with her infant son Frances, born at the estate only 17 days before the death of her step-grandfather, George Washington. Cash, checks, and credit cards accepted. Refreshments available.
