Hit and Run: Police Apprehend Driver
Hit and run crash injured occupant of another vehicle late Wednesday night at Route 1 and Old Mount Vernon Highway, according to police.

Fairfax County Police say that they have apprehended a driver who hit another car and fled late Wednesday night in the Mount Vernon area.
Police say the incident took place Wednesday just before midnight at Richmond Highway and and Old Mt. Vernon Highway (see map below). An officer observed a hit and run crash where an injury was sustained, police said.
That officer broadcast a lookout for the striking vehicle. The vehicle was spotted by another officer and a traffic stop was initiated. The driver of the striking vehicle initial failed to stop and a short pursuit ensued, according to police.

The suspect vehicle stopped without incident and the driver was arrested. The driver, Anderson Ochoa, 33, of Alexandria, was charged with felony hit and run, eluding, DUI, and possession of marijuana. The occupants of the vehicle that was struck were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
