Kayaker Rescued On Potomac River In Mount Vernon
BREAKING: Rescue crews saved a kayaker in the Potomac River Tuesday in Mount Vernon.

MOUNT VERNON, VA—Fire crews made an emergency Potomac River rescue more typical in summer as a temporary thaw continued. With help from surrounding jurisdictions, Fairfax County first responders saved a kayaker in distress Tuesday in Mount Vernon.
Fairfax County, Prince George's County, Fort Belvoir and Alexandria fire crews responded to the call just after noon in the area of Dogue Creek and the Potomac River.
A fireboat rescued the victim and met up with an ambulance on the dock. The victim has been transported to the hospital for a check-up.
