Man Refuses to Pay Fare, Threatens Taxi Driver: Police

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Officers responded to the 8700 block of Richmond Highway on Saturday for a report of an attempted malicious wounding, Fairfax County Police said Tuesday.

Sometime after 7:30 p.m., Darnell Fletcher, 22, of Washington, DC, allegedly produced a knife and declined to pay his taxi cab fare, police said.

Responding officers located Fletcher a short time later and he was arrested and charged with assault and theft of service, according to police.
