Man Threatens To Kill Officers In Fort Belvoir Arrest: Police
Officers responding to a call about a disorderly man were assaulted, spit on and threatened.

Fairfax County Police say a man threatened and assaulted officers when they responded to a call in Fort Belvoir Friday morning.
Around 10:22 a.m., officers were called to the 9100 Block of Belvoir Woods Parkway for a man making inappropriate gestures and may have assaulted someone. When officers arrived, the man refused to leave and pushed them.
When officers tried to put him under arrest, the man spit in one officer’s face and stated he would kill them.

Roger Merritt, 57, of Convent, New Jersey, was charged with two counts of assault on law enforcement and disorderly conduct. He is scheduled to appear in Fairfax County court on May 21.
