Mount Vernon Ranks on Best Places to Live in Virginia

New rankings from Niche break down the best places to live in Virginia, and Mount Vernon made the list.

MOUNT VERNON, VA -- What’s the best place to live in Virginia? That depends on who you ask, but according to a new set of rankings released by Niche.com, Mount Vernon is the 61st best place to live in the state.

A current resident describes Mount Vernon as an area with nearby attractions like Old Town Alexandria and D.C. The resident praised the public schools for improving every year. "I wouldn't want to grow up anywhere else. I think it is the perfect blend of the suburbs and the city. I would love to live here when I am older," the resident said.

The ranking looked at several factors, such as public schools, a good family environment, diversity and housing. Mount Vernon received an A for family environment, A for diversity, B for public schools and C+ for housing. Click here to read more about the methodology.
