MUD, SWEAT, AND A GREAT CAUSE: RUNNING DIRTY TAKES NORTHERN VIRGINIA BY STORM
Mud Soaked Racers Run to Support One Team – One Fight to Support Our Nation's Warriors

Chantilly, VA ( September 3 , 2014) – Thrill seekers and weekend warriors have a chance to be challenged by the second annual Running Dirty, an obstacle based four-mile mud run that will push runners to their fitness, toughness and athletic limits. This exhilarating race’s Northern Virginia leg is at the Ticonderoga Farms this year in Chantilly, Virginia and begins with the first wave of racers at 9 a.m. on September 13, 2014.
Running Dirty events include more than 23 obstacles, inspired by the Navy Seal’s “Hell Mile.” There are a number of unique and sought-after obstacles, exclusive to Running Dirty, like the “Drunk Monkey,” “Spider Wall,” “Shaky Ground” and “Going A Wall,” to name a few. The course is designed to put the average weekend warrior to the test and help them discover their inner strength.
“In a short period of time, Running Dirty has become a popular and widely-attended event that provides people with one of the most challenging and fun races in the obstacle course racing circuit today,” said Mike Stamper, Founder of Running Dirty, LLC. “Our race is much more than just the average “5K Fun Run,” as it is designed to mimic what our country’s elite warriors train on every day.”

“The partnership between Running Dirty and The 31Heroes Project offers athletes a unique and innovative way to give back to three key charities,” said Maura Lukevics, Operations Director of The 31Heroes Project. “Together, we are striving to engage athletes and supporters to give back, honor, and raise awareness about our military heroes and their families.”
A portion of all registration fees will be going to One Team One Fight to help veterans and their families. Additionally, racers who participate will also have the ability to raise additional funds to support our Navy SEALS and their families. All military personnel, police and firefighters are encouraged to participate, and Running Dirty provides special discounts for their service. “We are honored to be working with One Team One Fight to raise money for those who risk their lives every day for our country,” continued Stamper. “In fact, team work is essential to our races, and at the heart of why we work with One Team – One Fight: No one should have to go the course alone.”
Following the main racing event is a lively “Running Dirty After Party.” The fun continues all day with Running Dirty contests for teams and individuals, including costume contests, games, prizes and much more.
Running Dirty runs specials each week for those interested in registering. Special waves have been set-up for the race including the “RD Elite” wave for serious mud runners who want to be the first on the course, a “Personal Charity Wave” for groups and individuals who want to support a charity or One Team One Fight, as well as a singles wave for those who are looking to meet other singles who are avid mud racers. About Running Dirty
Running Dirty is an Obstacle Course Race that originated in 2013 by the partners of the nationally renowned EPIC Brand. Known for producing more than 100 national events annually, the team setout to produce the same quality of event in its Running Dirty Races as they have in their other sporting and cheer based events. The courses provide Navy SEAL-inspired obstacles to those in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Race participants can challenge themselves by climbing over, across, through, and under tons of earth and wood, miles of barbed wire, as well as fire, water, and of course plenty of mud. Since their initial race in Frederick, Md., additional races have been added in Northern Virginia, Virginia Beach and New Jersey. Additional race locations are planned in Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina, and throughout the East Coast in 2015. The race series has become a supporter of the One Team – One Fight initiative to help Naval Special Warfare Veterans, families, and the families of our fallen heroes.
