MVCCT Thanks Fort Belvoir Service Members

With their fall production, Disney’s High School Musical, opening just days after Veterans Day, the Board of Mount Vernon Community Children’s Theatre (MVCCT) wanted to honor local service members, and offered ten pairs of free tickets to a number of families stationed at Fort Belvoir through a raffle sponsored by the local USO.  Regardless of where they are based, many service members seek entertaining outlets to boost their morale level. Giving free tickets to service members and their children is a unique way for MVCCT to meet this need

Laura Marshall, president of MVCCT and producer of the show, came up with the idea to offer the free tickets.  She was very excited about the opportunity, stating that  “MVCCT is truly appreciative of the support we receive from the entire Mt. Vernon community and we are always looking for ways to give back.  Being able to extend an extra 'thank you' to the families and service members at Fort Belvoir through the USO is especially gratifying.”

Disney’s High School Musical continues this weekend with shows Friday and Saturday at 7:30 and a Sunday Matinee at 3:00.  Tickets may be purchased by visiting the web site www.mvcct.org
