Nor'easter: What Mount Vernon Can Expect
Lots of national attention to the dangerous conditions to our north. But the southern end of this weather event should just leave us wet.

Northern Virginia will likely have a fair share of snow this season, but the latest Nor’easter targeting the Northeast on Tuesday and Wednesday looks like it will just leave us wet.

A winter mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain is possible for the Potomac Highlands and Shenandoah Valley tonight, according to the National Weather Service. And accumulating snow is in the forecast west of the Allegheny front from late Tuesday to Wednesday night.

But most of our area will likely just need umbrellas. The rain is expected to begin Monday night and continue through Tuesday, with precipitation heading out of the area by Wednesday.
It will likely just be rain, but it will be a lot of rain — up to an inch, according to WJLA, and right in time for a messy morning commute Tuesday.
