Patch Picks: Valentine's Day Dinner
Stumped as to where to take your sweetheart for dinner? Mount Vernon Patch has you covered.

If you're scrambling to make your reservation for Valentine's Day dinner, fear not. Here are Mount Vernon Patch's picks for some great spots to take your sweetheart for a romantic dinner without draining your gas tank:
- : The historic Woodlawn Plantation has been a romantic destination for centuries. This Valentine’s Day, treat your Valentine to a traditional tea service at Woodlawn. Harpist Chris Van Dyke will also perform, adding a super-romantic touch to a great afternoon. Admission is only $35 per person, and a tour of the mansion is included.
- Mount Vernon is all about history, and the Mount Vernon Inn is no exception. The famed restaurant is offering a special a la carte dinner menu for the evening of Valentine’s Day. Reservations are still being accepted.
- is known for its romantic atmosphere and good Italian cuisine. They will offer entrée specials on their regular dinner menu.
- Mamma’s Kitchen will run a special menu through the weekend and on Monday, perfect for the couple that works from 9-5. At $30 per person, you can’t go wrong. Mamma’s will be serving delectable Greek and Italian appetizers and great entrees like their lobster ravioli. One of their desserts will be lemon sorbet with lemon liquor served in a champagne glass – sounds heavenly, right?
- Rustico in Old Town Alexandria is one of my favorite spots. It’s especially good for the couple that wants to have a more relaxed Valentine’s Day dinner. Their selection of gourmet pizzas and craft beer can’t be beat, and you can even watch some college basketball at the bar.
