Washington Mill Elementary School's Running Club culminates season with a real track meet at Mount Vernon High School

More than 60 Washington Mill Elementary School (WMES) students gathered at Mount Vernon High School on June 6 for some good old-fashioned competition on the track.

The WMES Running Club students met this past spring on Wednesdays after school to train for the event, and then these same children, representing grades 1-6, came to the high school track for the big event.

Events included the broad jump, the 100-meter and 400 meter run, as well as various relay races.
