Porch Fire Does $50,000 Damage at Buckman Road Home
No one was home when the fire broke out Tuesday morning, fire officials said.
A fire that started Tuesday morning at a house off of Buckman Road in Fairfax County and did $50,000 worth of damage, according to a news release from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to the house fire Tuesday, July 29, at approximately 9:45 a.m., in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located in the 4000 block of Buckman Road.
Firefighters encountered smoke and fire coming from an enclosed rear porch and extending to the attic area in the one-story home upon arrival. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and quickly extinguished the fire. The home was vacant. There were no injuries.

The fire started in the enclosed porch area and is under investigation, fire officials said.
