Robber Terrorizes Men Over Cell Phone In Groveton
The robber kept bugging them for their cell phones until the situation escalated into an assault.

GROVETON, VA—A case of a man following and demanding cell phones from two people turned into a brawl and robbery Friday in Groveton.
It was around 1 p.m. when the two victims were approached by the unknown suspect in the 3200 block of Lockheed Boulevard. The suspect asked one if he could use his phone, to which the victim said he didn't have one. They kept walking until the suspect approached again and demanded one of their cell phones.
A fight broke out when the victims refused to hand over a phone. The suspect assaulted the men, and a bystander had to step in to break it up. The suspect fled without a cell phone but was able to snatch a debit card.

The victims didn't have serious injuries. Police did not immediately locate the suspect and continue to investigate. Anyone with information about this or another incident should call Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131 or submit a tip online through Crime Solvers.
