Taking Care of Your Stainless Steel Appliances

Stainless steel appliances have grown in popularity over the last few years. Unlike other colors, they are not easily dates and if kept in good condition, their value holds up very well.

Here are some tips for keeping your stainless steel appliances in good shape:

• Never clean stainless steel with any kind of abrasive: they will scratch the surface and create lines and swirls. The best cleaning and drying cloth is one made of microfiber. 
• Always wipe in the direction of the grain of the finish. For light soil, use a warm solution of mild soap. For grease or heavy soil, we recommend a product called “Krud Kutter.”
• For deeper scratches, you may be better off having a professional remove them. A consumer scratch removal kit called “Scratch B Gone” is available in stores. Follow the directions completely or you can create a bigger problem than you started with.
