Teen Charged in Small Apartment Fires

Investigators claim a young man is responsible for fire Dec. 31 at two garden apartments in Alexandria, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

Irving Nicolas Facundo Carvajal, 18, is charged with two counts of burning a building while in such building with intent to commit a felony and two counts of setting fire to woods, fences, grass, etc.

The charges are in connection to fires at 2615 and 2613 Arlington Drive, Alexandria, on December 31, 2014, according to a Fairfax County release. Damages were estimated at $500.

There were no injuries.
