Trash Pick-Up in Mount Vernon for Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 13

There will be a regular solid waste collection day for customers receiving Monday collection service for trash and recycling.

Did you remember that Monday, Oct. 13 is Columbus Day? Here’s information on the county trash schedule for the holiday:

There will be a regular solid waste collection day for customers receiving Monday collection service for trash and recycling and for customers with previously scheduled collections. All materials should be at the curb by 6 a.m. in order to ensure that they will be collected.

The county trash administrative office will be closed on Monday, Oct. 13 for the Columbus Day holiday. The office will reopen at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

The Recycling and Disposal Centers at the I-66 Transfer Station (4618 West Ox Road) and the I-95 Landfill Complex (9850 Furnace Road) will both be open on Monday, October 13.
