This week at Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore
Spotlight this week on vinyl, DVDs, and history
The bookstore will be open on Wednesday, 1-4 PM, and Sunday, 1-3 PM. Sherwood Regional Library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.
This week the special price table is packed with surprises: a signed copy of Louise Penny’s “The Long Way Home,” graphic novel “Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi, vol.3,” an author-inscribed copy of “The Last Sentry: The True Story that Inspired The Hunt For Red October,” a ghost-written memoir “Reflections of a Civil War Locomotive Engineer,” and 3 hardcover volumes in the children’s series “Madlenka” by Peter Sis.
NEW in the special price room: all books that have a “red slash” through the original price sticker are now half-off the original price every day.

A huge donation of vinyl records includes a boxed set of 5 LPs “Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Live, 1975-85” and an LP-illustrated book combo of “Alice in Wonderland.” See the special price section for those albums. Other new vinyl donations are in the second floor lobby and priced at 50 cents each. Also in the second floor lobby are several boxes of newly donated DVDs.
The cart of recent donations to the history and biography section has been restocked, and a 12-volume series from the Time-Life Library “The LIFE History of the United states” is available on the bookshelf opposite the coffee table books area. In the same area is a newly donated 20-volume series “Crimes and Punishment: A Pictorial Encyclopedia of Aberrant Behavior.”

Our bookstore and support of the library depend on donations by members of the community. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in clean, resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
Items from the ongoing book sale in the first floor hallway and in the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open.
