The bookstore will hold its monthly First Saturday sale this week, on August 3, from 10 AM – 4 PM. The store will be open as usual on Wednesday, July 31, 1-4 PM, and Sunday, August 4, 1-3 PM. Sherwood Regional Library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

This Saturday’s special price offerings include “The Encyclopedia of World History (with CD),” a 5-volume boxed set of the first 5 installments of the “Pendragon” adventure, a 4-volume boxed set of “The World of Mathematics” edited by James Newman, and an extraordinary “Frank Lloyd Wright in Pop-Up.”

Our music collection keeps expanding. This week on the special price table you will find “Easy Guitar Anthology: Santana,” “The Piano Bench of Classical Music,” and “Tone Development Through Interpretation.” In addition, we have added new selections to our boxes of popular contemporary and “olde time” sheet music.

Here is the news many of you have been waiting for: In the special price room, all books that have a “red slash” through the original price sticker are now half-off the original price every day.

Our bookstore and support of the library depend on donations by members of the community. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in clean, resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.

Items from the ongoing book sale in the first floor hallway and in the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. Help us spread the word; please forward this message to your community and neighborhood email groups.
