The Sherwood Regional Library bookstore will be open this Wednesday from 1 – 4 PM, and Sunday, January 26, from 1-3 PM. Please note that our newly expanded winter hours include every Saturday, this week from 1-4. Sherwood Regional Library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

As always our special price table contains quality books at very reasonable prices. This week we are offering “The New Brain,” by Richard Restak, M.D., in an autographed edition; “Alan Turing: The Enigma” by Andrew Hodges; the complete 8-volume “Flower Fairies Library” as a lovely boxed set; “Mindfulness-Based Play-Family Therapy/Theory and Practice”; and an un-opened blue ray disc of “The Outsiders.”

This is the final week that we are able to offer paperback romance novels at the bargain price of 10 cents each. Look for these in the second floor lobby. Our travel guides and true-life adventure stories are now in the second floor hallway for easier access; the Western novels formerly in that area now share the mystery paperback shelves. In this same hallway, the “self - help” section now has a dedicated “exercise and diet” shelf.

Also in the second floor lobby is a cart full of children’s picture books at very special prices; this means you no longer will need to wait for bookstore open hours in order to browse quality children’s books. The Quarter Corner still offers children’s and young adult selections at 25 cents each.

Also in the second floor lobby you will find our always-renewed supply of $1 “coffee table” books, science fiction novels, and a shelf of “modern classics and award winners,” as well as regular classics, and used textbooks.

Our bookstore and support of the library depend on donations by members of the community. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction. PLEASE ensure that they are in clean, resalable condition. We cannot accept magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.

Items from the ongoing book sale in the first floor hallway and in the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. Help us spread the word; please forward this message to your community and neighborhood email groups. Share your New Year’s resolution to “Read More Books” and see new videos on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TheFriendsofSherwoodLibraryBookstore/ .
