Community Corner
This week at Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore
Free encyclopedia for school library or home school group

The Sherwood Regional Library bookstore will be open as usual on Wednesday from 1 – 4 PM, Saturday from 1 – 4 PM, and Sunday, February 9, from 1-3 PM. Sherwood Regional Library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.
As always our special price table contains quality books at very reasonable prices. This week we feature “Americans and the California Dream, 1850-1915”, inscribed by author Kevin Starr; “Ignatius, The Holy Bible,” RSV, 1966 edition; and the beautifully illustrated edition of “The Travels of Marco Polo.”
The bookstore continues to add many 2019 and 2020 best sellers, both fiction and non-fiction, to a separate bookcase, and still has a few collectibles guides of interest.

Do you know a school library or homeschool group that could benefit from a complete 26-volume set of the 2007 Compton’s Encyclopedia by Britannica? We have a beautiful set that was donated and we would like to give it at no charge to a good cause. Unfortunately we cannot store it, ship it, or deliver it. Please come to the bookstore to claim this great resource. In the future, any encyclopedias we receive as donations will regretfully be recycled.
Remember, our travel guides and true-life adventure stories are now in the second floor hallway for easier access; the Western novels formerly in that area now share the mystery paperback shelves. In this same hallway, the “self - help” section now has a dedicated “exercise and diet” shelf. The Quarter Corner still offers children’s and young adult selections at 25 cents each.

Our bookstore and support of the library depend on donations by members of the community. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction. PLEASE ensure that they are in clean, resalable condition. We cannot accept magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
Items from the ongoing book sale in the first floor hallway and in the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. Help us spread the word; please forward this message to your community and neighborhood email groups.
