The Sherwood Regional Library bookstore will be open as usual on Wednesday from 1 – 4 PM, Saturday from 1 – 4 PM, and Sunday, February 16, from 1-3 PM. Sherwood Regional Library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

The Fairfax County library system, and the bookstore, will be closed on Monday, February 17, in observance of Presidents’ Day.

As always our special price table contains quality books at very reasonable prices. This week new additions to the table include an inscribed copy of Warren Brown’s “Cake Love: How to Bake Cakes from Scratch”; a signed copy of “The Death of the West” by Patrick Buchanan; and, from the Naval Institute Press, “Shorts Aircraft since 1900” by C. H. Barnes.

The bookstore’s selection of 2019 and 2020 editions expands every week. For example, this week the collection includes Danielle Steele’s new “Moral Compass” and the non-fiction “Repeal the Second Amendment” by Allan Lichtman.

We have multiple copies of some books, which would make them suitable for book clubs, exercise groups, etc. These include “Angel Walk: Nurses at War in Iraq & Afghanistan”; the DC Junior League Cookbook; and the “US Navy Seal Guide to Fitness.”

The children’s room has a 9-volume looseleaf set of “Wildlife Facts”; several like-new volumes by Rick Riordan; multiple volumes in the “39 Clues” series; and a boxed set of paperback volumes 1-7 of the ”Chronicles of Narnia.”.

Our bookstore and support of the library depend on donations by members of the community. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction. PLEASE ensure that they are in clean, resalable condition. We cannot accept magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.

Items from the ongoing book sale in the first floor hallway and in the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. Help us spread the word; please forward this message to your community and neighborhood email groups.
