This week at Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore
Temporary library closing in October; bookstore to hold clearance sale.

The Friends of Sherwood Library bookstore will be open as usual on Wednesday, September 18, from 1-4 PM and Sunday, September 22, from 1-3 PM. Sherwood Regional Library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.
Recent additions to the special price table this week include a collector’s edition of “Lonesome Dove” by Larry McMurtry; “August Sandler, Photographs of an Epoch”; a 1954 slipcase edition of “Cyrano de Bergerac”, English version by Louis Untermeyer; and a 2-volume association edition of “Alaska, North to the Future” presented to then-Senator Ted Stevens.
Please note: the library’s elevator to the second floor is out of order and is likely to remain so through mid-October. Volunteers are able to assist with large volume purchases.

TEMPORARY LIBRARY CLOSING
Find out what's happening in Mount Vernonfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
October 3 through 14
The library will be completely closed for maintenance from October 3 through October 14. No admittance for staff, volunteers, or patrons. The bookstore will close on October 1 to prepare for the library facility refresh, and will reopen with the library on October 15.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept donations from September 29 until the library reopens on October 15.
The bookstore will have a pre-closing clearance sale starting on September 22. All inventory will be half price, including regular and special price items, with some exceptions, from September 22 until September 30.
Our bookstore and support of the library depend on donations by members of the community. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in clean, resalable condition. Currently we are in special need of paperback mystery and science fiction. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes. For large-volume donations (for example, multiple boxes or hundreds of items) please call the bookstore in advance to facilitate staff coordination: 703-718-8206.
Items from the ongoing book sale in the first floor hallway and in the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. Help us spread the word; please forward this message to your community and neighborhood email groups.
