The Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore will be open as usual on Wednesday, November 20, from 1-4 PM and Sunday, November 24, from 1-3 PM. Sherwood Regional Library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.
As always our special price table contains quality books at very reasonable prices. This week it includes “Mastering the Art of French Cooking”; a “Frank Lloyd Wright Field Guide to His 100 Greatest Works”; the 4-volume boxed hardcover set of the “Twilight Sage”; and the massive “Nordic Cookbook.” Remember to visit the special price room, where many previous specials have been “red lined” to half price.
Thanks to recent generous donations, the bookstore collection now includes the wonderfully educational looseleaf edition, 10 volume “Wildlife Facts”- see it in the children’s room; a multi-year collection of “America’s Best Short Stories” with volumes from 1983 – 2018; the Time Life 11 volume set “The Third Reich”; a 5 volume “Life of Washington”; a new supply of jigsaw puzzles and games; and multiple classics from the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series.

In the second floor open lobby we have boxes of vinyl, a table full of holiday books (mainly Christmas and Hanukkah) for all ages, the “quarter corner” for kids’ and young adult books, carts and bookcases filled to overflowing with cookbooks, hardcover and paperback fiction, classics, poetry, science fiction, romance, and so much more. These items may be purchased whenever the library is open. Use the payment kiosk near the circulation desk if a volunteer is not available.
Good news: the library’s elevator to the second floor is now working! Thank you for your patience during the past months.
