This week at Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore

The Friends of Sherwood Library bookstore will be open as usual on Wednesday from 1-4 PM, Saturday from 1 – 4 PM, and Sunday from 1-3 PM. The bookstore’s newly expanded winter hours will include every Saturday from 1 – 4 PM. Sherwood Regional Library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

As always our special price table contains quality books at very reasonable prices. This week we feature “Letters of Sylvia Plath”; “The Civil War: a Narrative” by Shelby Foote”; and “Adventures of Tom Bombadil” by J.R.R. Tolkien.

The second floor lobby continues to be open for purchases whenever the library is open. The holiday selection in that lobby is continually being updated; many of the books are gift-quality. The romance carts have been newly re-stocked with paperbacks, now 10 for one dollar. Western novels have been moved from obscurity and now share the mystery/thriller bookcase, and our travel books have been moved for easier access from the sales room to the upstairs hallway.

Our bookstore and support of the library depend on donations by members of the community. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction. PLEASE ensure that they are in clean, resalable condition. We cannot accept magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.

Items from the ongoing book sale in the first floor hallway and in the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open.
