Weekend Weather Forecast for Mount Vernon Area

Wondering what’s up with the weather this weekend in Northern Virginia? Here’s a look, courtesy of the National Weather Service.

  • Saturday: Sunny with a high of 55 degrees, low of 39 degrees Saturday night with increasing clouds
  • Sunday: There’s a 70 percent chance of rain with a high around 49 degrees, and a 60 percent chance of rain Sunday night with a low of 38 degrees.

Monday and Tuesday, temperatures take a dip, with highs only reaching into the 40s after the “heat wave” of the weekend. The Monday morning commute could include a little rain — there’s a 30 percent chance of rain.

New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day will really be chilly though, according to the NWS forecast, with highs only in the 30s, just above freezing, during the day. If you’ll be out and about on New Year’s Eve night, it’ll get down into the 20s so get ready to bundle up. Currently there is no rain in the forecast for New Year’s Eve, just partly cloudy skies.
