Andy's Pizza, which won an award at the International Pizza Expo, is planning to open in the former location of Meggrolls.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — Andy's Pizza, a local pizzeria that earned an international accolade, is planning to open a location in Old Town Alexandria.
Andy's Pizza is seeking a special use permit from the City of Alexandria for a change of ownership at 107 N. Fayette Street. That location formerly hosted Meggrolls, which Alexandria Living Magazine reported to be closed in early 2022.
Andy's Pizza first opened in 2018 as part of the Urbanspace food hall inside Tysons Galleria. Since then, it has opened new locations in DC's Shaw, Adams Morgan, NoMa (Streets Market) and Navy Yard (at Atlas Beew Works). Its pizza is also offered at Echo Park next to its Shaw location. In 2021, Andy's Pizza owner Andy Brown won the traditional pizza category at the International Pizza Expo's International Pizza Challenge.
