Misha's Coffee Applies For Move To King Street

The longtime coffeehouse is proposing to move around the corner onto King Street.

Misha's Coffee, a longtime coffee roaster at 102 S Patrick Street, has applied to move its flagship location to King Street.

The owners filed a special use permit application with the city on Wednesday to move operations to 917 King Street. The proposed location is just around the corner from where it currently operates.

The new location would offer around 90 indoor seats and eight outdoor seats. Proposed hours are 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Misha's, which roasts coffee and sells coffee, tea and pastries, has been open since 1991. Its products are also sold at Whole Foods in Old Town Alexandria, Vienna and Fair Lakes. The flagship location roasts coffee in-house for patrons to see and sells equipment for brewing and serving coffee and tea.

The business also has plans to expand to a second location at 6 Prince Street, the former site of Olde Towne Gemstones. The Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval to City Council in April.
