Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle Sunday in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- A pedestrian has been struck by a vehicle Sunday afternoon in the City, according to Alexandria Police.

The person was struck by a vehicle in the 5300 block of Taney Avenue (see map below).

The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said. Police did not offer any other details.

Two people were struck by vehicles last month in Alexandria, one in the West End and one on Mount Vernon Avenue. In September, a woman was killed in a hit and run crash with a truck; no one was charged.
