• Person hurt, 5 people without a home after Petersburg fire (wric.com) — An early-morning house fire on Liberty Street in Petersburg left one person injured and five residents displaced after firefighters found a mattress burning in a second-floor bedroom. Petersburg Fire Rescue quickly brought the blaze under control in about 15 minutes, and the Red Cross is helping those who lost their home while the Fire Marshal investigates the cause.
